This workshop is the perfect opportunity to bring your style and vision to life, using the techniques of an experienced artist and jeweller at the pinnacle of her craft. You will get to make your own unique ring, earrings, pendant, bangle or small metal object to take home.
Abby Seymour is known for her illustrative and distinctive carved detail, applied through the lost art of wax casting in metal. This style, which conjures references to ancient Egyptian relics and Art Deco geometry, naturally enables the maker to mark each piece as their own.
Designed for beginner to intermediate level, this workshop will guide you through the wax casting design process from choosing the right tools to selecting and carving the right wax, and filing and polishing your jewellery.
There will be many demonstrations along the way and opportunities for individual tuition, tailored to guide you through the nuances of design. You will also be given an invaluable hand book to reference at home, along with a gridded design pad and wax to continue your designs and of course, your very own piece to wear and treasure.
